Privacy Policy

Kokology is a quiet space for self-reflection. You can use everything here without an account. Signing in is optional, and only adds the ability to carry your progress between devices.
The short version
- Use Kokology signed out and your journey answers, notes, results, and activity stay in your own browser. Like any hosted website, routine requests still pass through Cloudflare, and an anonymous error report may be sent if something breaks (see below).
- If you choose to sign in with Google, we store your name, email, completed journeys, results, streaks, and progress summary so they can sync across devices.
- Your written reflection notes and the exact wording of your answers stay on your device. They are not uploaded for sync.
- We never sell your data or use it for advertising.
- You can download your local data, forget a shared device, or delete your account and everything we hold, at any time from the account page.
What we collect, and only if you sign in
- Your name and email address, provided by Google when you sign in. We use these to identify your account and show your name in the app.
- Your activity in the app — which journeys and daily reflections you have completed, your results, streak, aggregate progress, and preferences — so your progress appears the same on every device you sign in on.
We do not collect your Google password, your contacts, anything from your Google account beyond your name and email, or the private wording of your reflections.
If you do not sign in
Your journey answers, written notes, results, and activity are stored locally in your browser and are not uploaded for account sync. Clearing your browser data removes them. Cloudflare still processes routine technical request data needed to deliver the site, such as your IP address, browser details, and the page requested. If the site crashes, an anonymous error report may also be sent as described below.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of trusted services to run Kokology, and share only what is needed for them to work:
- Google — to let you sign in securely. Google's handling of your sign-in is covered by their own privacy policy.
- Cloudflare — hosts the site and stores your synced account data on our behalf.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone.
Reporting a problem
If you tap "report a problem," or the site automatically detects a crash, we send the page you were on, basic browser/device info, a version number, and (if you typed one) your message to our own internal bug-tracking tool — so we can find and fix it. This happens whether or not you are signed in, and never includes your reflection notes, answers, or the private wording of a journey.
Cookies
When you are signed in we set a single secure cookie to keep you signed in between visits. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
Your choices and control
- Delete everything: from the account menu you can permanently delete your account and all associated data.
- Download your data: the account page can save a readable JSON copy of the reflection and progress data currently held in this browser.
- Sign out: regular sign-out keeps this browser’s private local copy so it is waiting if you return. On a shared device, choose “Sign out & forget this device” to remove it after signing out.
- Ask us: email us with any privacy question or request.
Children
Kokology is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13.
A note on what Kokology is
